Abbreviations used in our knitting patterns

beg		begin or beginning
BO		bind off
CC		contrasting color, used when more than one color is used in a pattern
cn		cable needle
CO		cast on
dec (dec'd)		decrease (decreased)
inc		increase
k		knit
k2tog		knit two together
k3tog		knit three together
kfb		knit into the front and then the back of the same st to inc by 1 st
kfbf		knit into the front and then the back and then the front of the same st to inc by 2 st
kwise		knitwise
m		marker
M1L		With left needle, lift strand between needles from front to back. Knit the loop through the back.
M1R		With left needle, lift strand between needles from back to front. Knit the loop through the front.
MC		main color, used when more than one color yarn is used in a pattern
meas		measures
ndl (ndls)		needle (needles)
p		purl
p2tog		purl two together
p3tog		purl three together
patt		pattern
pm		place marker
psso		pass slipped stitch over
pwise		purlwise
rep		repeat
rnd (rnds)		round (rounds)
rem		remain (remaining)
rev		reverse or reversing
RS		right side
sl		slip
ssk		slip two stitches knitwise, then knit them together
